Permashine delights customers
Testimonial:
Having owned many Fords and used them as daily drivers, I've always
strived for the ultimate paint protection product, something that
is easy to maintain and gives a long lasting no nonsense finish.
I
have finally found the product - Permashine! The product is stunning
- it leaves the car feeling like glass with a finish that beads
superbly, shines in the sunlight and gives fantastic depth of
colour!
The best thing about this product is that by just washing the
car once a fortnight with the wash wax product the shine and feel
is returned!
When looking for a product I was particularly interested in
it's ability to deal with bird mess. With Permashine it's a simple
process of getting a damp kitchen towel and wiping clean - amazing!
To cap it all Permashine released a product I could apply myself
in the form of a car polish to complement it's paint protection
- it's just as good in my opinion and now I can apply a finish
to the car as frequent as I like that gives similar results and
will aid the longevity of the paint protection.
If you want a no nonsense, long lasting paint protection then
look no further than here.

RALLYINGUK .COM Stages
2007
PRESS RELEASE: 18th July 2007
Team
Permashine headed towards Smeatharpe airfield for the RallyingUK.com
stages.
Despite the very cold and wet weather, team driver Jamie was
pleased to see the rain as he finds the Permashine Peugeot more
competitive in wet conditions.
Stage 1 was a quick stage for the team, and Jamie caught up a
Subaru that had slowed in the bad weather conditions. Unfortunately
this did not help the team's stage time because the Subaru held
him up.
Stage 2 was more than a minue faster, and Jamie's time got faster
again in Stage three, keeping him in good contention for a top
3 finish in his class.
Then the sun suddenly appeared and stayed out for the rest of
the day. 14 seconds were lost in Stage 4 but Jamie kept his times
consistent for the rest of the day. He was kept on his toes by
car 35 closing the gap for third in class.
Going into the last stage of the day , Jamie knew he had to put
in a good stage performance to keep his third in class and 25th
overall position. He succeeeded and increased the gap between
himself and car 35 with an outstanding stage time, achieving a
great overall result and 3rd in class.

Brean Stages rally -
an all round success
PRESS RELEASE: 30th
January 2007
This
year’s Brean Stages Rally, sponsored by local businesses
PIAA UK, Permashine and Howards Motor Group has
been hailed as a raging success by its organisers, following glowing
reports received from competitors, spectators and guests.
The two cars sponsored by PIAA and Permashine, driven by Dave
Harris and his son Jamie, both won awards for their performances
during the weekend.

Permashine in action
The 11th running of this popular annual event was won by 2006
National Asphalt Rally Champions David Kynaston and co-driver
Andy Russell. Driving their Audi A3 Quattro, the Devon pairing
led the event from the first of the 12 special stages held around
the Brean Leisure Park on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th January.
“This is the first time I have won this rally and I’m
very pleased to have done it,” said Kynaston at the finish.
“I really enjoyed driving the stages and had no problems
throughout the event. It’s a great way to start the season!”
Second place, 51 seconds behind Kynaston and Russell, were Peter
Lloyd and Graham Handley in their Subaru Impreza WRC, with last
year’s winners, Steve and Yvonne Furzeland third, also in
an Impreza WRC.
With
dry weather conditions all weekend, organisers were delighted
to see a large number of spectators turn out to watch the action.
The event also enjoyed considerable media exposure, with local
television, radio and papers providing extensive coverage –
plus the specialist motorsport press also took particular interest
this year.
“As far as attention from the public and press is concerned,
this is by far our most successful year,” said event director
Rod McKenna. “I am also delighted to report that the event
ran like clockwork and I must thank the marshals, officials and
my organising team for all their help not only at the weekend,
but on the lead up to the event as well.”
The event was also a big success for its sponsors, with its public
exposure and media attention a real plus. But for PIAA and Permashine,
it was the opportunity to entertain guests which was the most
significant aspect of the event, providing them the chance to
see such spectacular driving combined with corporate hospitality
being very well received by all those who attended.
Director of North Somerset-based companies PIAA UK and Permashine
Chris Hutchings said, “It’s the first year that we
have been major sponsors of this event and I’m over the
moon with the way it went. The organisation was excellent, the
press coverage surpassed our expectations and our invited guests
were very impressed. I must therefore thank and congratulate everyone
involved with the running of this event.”
Both PIAA and Permashine are associated with motorsport and automotive
products. PIAA are manufacturers and distributors of high performance
lighting, wipers and screen care solutions, whilst Permashine
provide the motor trade with a top quality vehicle paintwork and
interior protection system.
Permashine Team crowned
South West Champions
PRESS RELEASE: 5th January
2007
Driving
the Permashine sponsored Ford Escort RS, Weston-Super-Mare rally
driver Dave Harris ended his 2006 season as ASWMC (Association
of South West Motor Clubs) Loose Surface Champion - having previously
won the title in 1986!
The eleven-round championship featured a series of forest-based
events held at various venues around the region, with points allocated
for class positions rather than overall results – Harris
competing in the up to two-litre category.
After a couple of disappointing outings mid-season, Harris battled
right to the end and went into the final round with an 18-point
advantage. Knowing he just had to post a respectable performance
to win, he drove a calculated rally and was pleased to find himself
over four minutes ahead of his nearest class rival at the finish
– the result securing him the 2006 title by 13 points.
“I’m delighted to have won the Championship again
– especially as the first time I did it was 20 years ago!”
said Harris. “The result would not have been possible without
the tremendous support and help from my team and sponsors, especially
Permashine.”
Harris was keen to point out that the preparation of his car
has been a key factor throughout the season, as reliability is
an important aspect towards achieving success in rallying.
Managing Director of Permashine Trevor Hawkins was equally as
pleased with the result:
“This is the first season we have supported Dave and I
have been impressed with his performance during the year. As a
local company we are keen to support local sportsmen and, with
our products associated to the motor trade, we see motorsport
as a logical way of promoting them.”
Harris is now considering his 2007 campaign and hopes to defend
his title - together with the continued support from Permashine.

A SHINING EXAMPLE
A
Lympsham company has been making a big name for itself in the
last 12 months, even making it on to the top BBC2 show The Apprentice.
Established by Weston businessmen Trevor Hawkins and Chris Hutchings,
Permashine’s car interior treatment system was demonstrated
by candidates vying for a job as Sir Alan Sugar’s apprentice.
As a supplier of high-performance automotive protection products,
the company is also predicting a healthy 93 per cent increase
in turnover at the end of only its second year of trading.
Permashine is a fluoro-polymer based sealant product that bonds
itself to vehicle paintwork and forms a crystal-clear, high-gloss
coating, which protects paint and gel coats from UV rays, acid
rain, oxidation, oils, tar and colour fading.
Mr Hawkins said: “I’m delighted that the business
has grown so much in the past 12 months."
“With the motor trade not enjoying the best of times at
the moment, I am confident that we will be able to continue to
expand our turnover and customer base as the climate in the industry
improves.”

LOCAL BUSINESSES RALLY ROUND TO SUPPORT
BREAN STAGES
Lympsham-based
businesses PIAA UK and Permashine have confirmed
support for the annual Brean Stages Rally, taking place on 27th
and 28th January 2007.
Organised by Weston-super-Mare Motor Club, this will be the 11th
running of the rally held on the tarmac roads within Brean Leisure
Park. Both companies see the sponsorship as a great opportunity
to promote their brands and, at the same time support a local
sporting event.
PIAA UK is the sole distributor of PIAA high-performance automotive
lighting for the UK and most of Europe. Its products are synonymous
with motorsport and many of the world’s leading competitors
and teams choose PIAA products.
PIAA has been involved with this event since it began, but this
is the first time we have been a major sponsor,” said Chris
Hutchings, Managing Director of PIAA UK. “We are delighted
to be involved as it provides both support for the rally and a
chance to entertain some of our customers.”
Permashine produces and markets a range of high-quality,
professional, exterior and interior car care products, designed
to enhance appearance and increase protection of the paintwork
and upholstery.
Managing Director for Permashine, Trevor Hawkins
comments: “With ours being a younger company this is also
the first time we have sponsored this event. The rally usually
enjoys a good turn-out of spectators and being involved will help
us make more people aware of our brand.”
PRESS RELEASE: 29th June 2006
Permashine, the Lympsham based supplier of high-performance automotive
protection products, is pleased to announce that it will sponsor
Weston-Super-Mare rally driver Dave Harris for the remainder of
the 2006 season.
With the business just over a year old, Managing Director of
Permashine Trevor Hawkins was keen to support a local sportsman
and, with his company’s obvious motoring connections, rallying
was the natural choice.
“We
are delighted to offer David our support for the rest of the year”,
said Mr Hawkins. “He is one of the most successful drivers
in the area and we hope that our added backing will help him win
this year’s South West Championship.”Driving a powerful
2-litre Vauxhall engined Ford Escort, Harris is currently lying
second overall at the season’s half-way point and, if recent
performances are anything to go by, he stands an excellent chance
of lifting the title.
“We had a few mechanical problems at the start of the season,
but things are looking good for the remaining five rounds.”
explained Harris. “Rallying can be a considerable drain
on resources, so I am most grateful to Permashine for providing
me with an extra boost in my quest to win the Championship.”
The rally car will be used to help promote Permashine’s
products, which include a fluoro-polymer based sealant that bonds
itself to vehicle paintwork. The coating forms a crystal-clear,
high-gloss finish which protects the paint – a feature which
makes Harris’ rally car one of the shiniest and easy to
clean in the sport!
Although not used in the Escort, Permashine also provides treatment
for car interiors too, its fabric protection system creating an
invisible coating that gives increased resistance to absorption
of liquid spills.
Harris’ next event in the Permashine backed Escort will
be the Swansea Bay Rally, which takes place on the 15th July and
is held in the forests surrounding the Neath Valley.

MOTOR TRADER May Issue
A recent episode of The Apprentice graphically demonstrated how
important car care products are as additional revenue streams
By RICHARD BARNETT
WHEN IT COMES to turning a marginal profit on a car into a bottom
line booster car care products can make all the difference.
Sir Alan Sugar has, unwittingly, done more for raising the profile
of car care products than anyone else in recent times after pitting
two teams of would-be business high flyers against each other
in the cut and thrust of car sales in The Apprentice TV series.
The episode, filmed at Slough’s Trade Sales, the car supermarket,
showed how the main difference to the bottom lines of both teams
was made by aftersales car care products rather than by selling
the cars themselves.
“We put the same emphasis on paint and interior protection
as we do on warranties,” said Trade Sales’ managing
director Neil Wilson.
“No pun intended, but selling paint protection offers a
nice clean profit – it’s one in the hand that can’t
be cancelled.
“What’s more, it helps the customer because solid
white or red paint can look deeper.
“Some people see it as being tricky to sell, but because
it’s physical and tangible it should be easy to sell,”
he said.
Permashine proved to be the real winner in the programme.
It has six full time valeters on-site at Trade Sales and its products
were exposed to an audience of millions. The polymer coating offers
a three-year protection against fading and dulling and saves car
owners the trouble of polishing, according to the firm’s
managing director, Trevor Hawkins.
“All our valeters are trained and certified by
us and the product can be used on cars up to eight years old,
although in this case cars have to be properly prepared before
receiving the treatment because, like house painting, you need
a good starting point,” Hawkins said.
“We are very impressed with the quality of Permashine’s
products and its technical support,” said Trade Sales’
Neil Wilson.
“We have a fast turnaround of stock and our customers demand
the best, so the quality of finish, both on the inside and outside
of our cars, has to be right – first time.”

Permashine stars on The Apprentice
Last night’s episode of popular BBC2 reality TV show, The
Apprentice, saw the outcome decided by Permashine car interior
and exterior protection products.
The series features a group of would-be hopefuls competing for
a six-figure salary and the chance to become Sir Alan Sugar’s
apprentice. Each week the number of candidates is reduced by one,
the now immortal words ‘you’re fired’, heralding
the inevitable demise of the weakest team member.
This week’s programme followed a similar format to that
of previous episodes where contestants were split into two groups
and tasked to compete against each other, with the team that earned
the most commission declared the winners.
On this occasion Sir Alan put his potential prodigies into a car
sales environment, where they were shown the basic rules of selling
cars and a number of sales techniques. They also learnt how to
increase profit margins by selling other items, such as warranties
and car care products, in order to maximise their day’s
work on the forecourt.
The business chosen to host this exercise was Trade Sales of Slough,
one of Permashine’s major customers. Trade Sales was the
first discount car dealership in the UK and is now regarded as
Europe’s number-one car supermarket.
Throughout last night’s programme the teams promoted a car-care
and protection system and, although not mentioned by name, the
products they referred to were Permashine.
The two teams offered these products to customers in order to
drive up profits and in one scene graphically demonstrated the
interior protector, showing how fabric does not absorb liquid
when treated with Permashine.
At the end of the programme it was revealed that both teams had
sold the same number of cars - 10. However, when it came to the
final reckoning it was found that the team who sold the most Permashine
were the winners!
Trevor Hawkins, Managing Director of Permashine, said: “I
am delighted that our products played such an important part in
the outcome of the programme. It just goes to show that sales
of Permashine can really boost profits. Of course, it makes the
cars look great too!”
